Like Cashmere and Candles - Holy Howl's mood and energy

Holy Howl is like Cashmere and candles in a wooded cabin, a record on the turn table, a leather bound book in hand._.png

With Feral as Folk I didn't realy sit back to think about the design elements until after the album was mostly done. But this round, since we are releasing singles as we go and sharing the whole process on Patreon I wanted to have a cohesive story to tell - and I was delighted by the story this project whispered in my ear.

I write music intuitively. My process has a lot more in common with a psychic then it does your average composer. When a song comes to me, it starts as a sensation, emotions and images and maybe a sense of story. I often go through LATER to try and organize, improve my initial word choice, play with the structure until it fits it’s final flow - but initially I’m just trying to translate what I’m seeing in my head as quickly as acurately as I can.

That is how the energy of this project “came to me”, for lack of a better term.

Holy Howl came through as dark woods
amber and vanilla
scotch
lace and cashmere

She's wild yet cozy, and enchantress in a wilderness haven nursing a hot cup of tea and eyeing you knowingly over the cup with a half smile and a promise.

I’m so excited to share her unfolding with you in the upcoming months.
